Status
Asset Status: The asset status indicates the state of an asset record in the CMMS. Maximo admin requests shall be
utilized to change asset statuses.
Active: The asset is commissioned and/or qualified and released for use.
• Preventive maintenance (PM) & calibration events that are attached to active asset records generate work orders
based on assigned schedules.
• On Demand work orders can be created on these asset records to perform corrective work/repairs. Prior to execution
of corrective work/repairs, asset shall be tagged out of service per site applicable SOP.

Status
Inactive: The asset is tagged out of service per site applicable SOP because it is no longer in use, but asset is still installed
in the facility. Assets in Inactive status must have an open AR (Admin Request ) or Work Order to address the final
disposition Active or Retired.
• Preventive maintenance & calibration events that are attached to Inactive status asset records do not generate work
orders, regardless of the assigned schedules.
• On Demand work order(s) shall be created on asset records to perform corrective work; MAXIMO Admin request shall
be created to restore the asset to an active status (following completion of corrective work).
Induction: Asset status indicates asset is being installed, commissioned, and/or qualified.
• Preventive maintenance & calibration events that are attached to Induction status asset records generate work orders
based on assigned schedules.
• On Demand work orders can be created on the asset to record work performed, such as installations or inspections,
initial calibrations, and PM’s.
Retired: This status indicates that an asset is permanently out of service and is removed from the Facility. 4.7.4.1. Work
orders cannot be generated in this state.
