1. What Are Animals?
• Animals are multicellular organisms that live in
different habitats on Earth. They breathe,
grow, and reproduce.
2. Classification of Animals
• Animals are classified into groups like
mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish,
and insects.
3. Mammals
• Mammals are warm-blooded, have hair or fur,
and feed their young with milk. Examples:
lions, humans, dolphins.
4. Birds
• Birds have feathers, beaks, and most can fly.
They lay eggs. Examples: eagles, penguins,
parrots.
5. Reptiles
• Reptiles are cold-blooded and have scaly skin.
Examples: snakes, crocodiles, lizards.
6. Amphibians
• Amphibians live in water and on land. They
include frogs, toads, and salamanders.
7. Fish
• Fish live in water, have gills and fins. Examples:
salmon, sharks, clownfish.
8. Insects
• Insects are the most diverse animals. They
have 6 legs. Examples: bees, butterflies, ants.
9. Animals in Forests
• Forests are home to tigers, monkeys, deer, and
birds. They depend on trees and rivers.

• Camels, snakes, scorpions live in deserts. They
survive with little water.
11. Animals in Oceans
• Oceans host whales, dolphins, octopuses, and
countless fish species.
12. Polar Animals
• Polar bears, seals, and penguins live in icy
regions and are adapted to cold.
13. Endangered Animals
• Some animals face extinction due to habitat
loss and poaching. Examples: pandas, rhinos.
14. Pets
• Common pets include cats, dogs, hamsters,
and birds. They are cared for by humans.
15. Farm Animals
• Cows, chickens, goats, and sheep are raised on
farms for milk, eggs, and meat.
16. Animal Adaptations
• Animals adapt to their environments, like
camouflage in chameleons or long necks in
giraffes.

• Carnivores eat meat, herbivores eat plants,
and omnivores eat both.
