九十年代中期，吉列姆和老拍档Charles McKeown为《[[时光大盗]]》的续集写了剧本，计划最终因几位原版中的演员去世而放弃。他还曾计划将查尔斯·狄更斯（Charles Dickens）的《双城记》（A Tale of Two Cities）再度搬上银幕，后来因预算和选角无法与片厂达成一致而作罢。
