Why did they stop?

[edit]

The article states rather baldly that congress mostly stopped issuing charters in 1992, but it doesn't say why. Does anyone know? I did some searching, but I couldn't find out anything specific. Hope some knowledgeable editors read this, someday. :) Eaglizard (talk) 03:36, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Added a sentence. --evrik (talk) 17:15, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
After I added an explanation without seeing this discussion, I added material also so it is now redunandant. In any event, my source shows it was discontinued in 1994. Americasroof (talk) 15:32, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Title 36 youth organizations

[edit]

The Boy Scouts of America Equal Access Act (2002) and the Support Our Scouts Act (2005) affirm equal access to Title 36 youth organizations in various forums. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 12:54, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of chartered organizations?

[edit]

One might reasonably presume that a list of all such organizations would be available, but I have not been able to find such a thing. Can anyone supply a link to such a list? Bricology (talk) 16:18, 10 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Howard University is also federally chartered--see US Statutes at Large vol 14, pp. 438-39 (Act of March 2, 1867).[1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.163.240.13 (talk) 21:00, 16 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
