A130 renumbering
As a consequence of the Chelmsford North East Bypass scheme several roads are being renumbered.
The A130 now runs from Canvey Island to the Howe Green interchange (J17) on the A12. The A130 designation north of the A12 is abolished. What was the A130 from the Boreham Interchange (J19) on the A12 to Little Waltham is now five sequential roads:
1. Colchester Road,
2. White Hart Lane, (un-numbered),
3. From the roundabout at the west end of White Hart Lane northwards is designated the A1016,
4. From where the new A131 joins the Essex Regiment Way (‘Costa’ roundabout) northwards is designated the A131,
5. From the roundabout where the Braintree Road meets the Essex Regiment Way the road to Little Waltham is designated the B1008.
The A131 now runs from the Boreham Interchange (J19) on the A12 north then west around Beaulieu Park to join the Essex Regiment Way, then north on what was the A130. From where the Braintree Road meets the Essex Regiment Way the A131 retains its designation.
