[edit]Just in the process of creating the page with some basic information. Prof. Coatsworth is a tenured Professor at Columbia University and meets the criteria for inclusion in wikipedia as an academic.
- Please peruse WP:PROF to be certain of that. Also, could you please sign any comments you leave. WebHamster 00:27, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- By my count, the fact he held a named professorial chair at Harvard means he meets the WP:PROF test. User:tglaisyer
- Shame it doesn't mention that in the article. WebHamster 01:50, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have now updated the article to mention above referenced information. I hope this now satisfies your criteria. I would ask that the speedy deletion tag be removed. User:tglaisyer —The preceding signed but undated comment was added at 02:16, August 27, 2007 (UTC).
- It isn't my criteria, it's Wikipedia's. From my interpretation of WP:PROF a chair at Harvard is not one of the 6 criteria in that guideline. In fact the guideline even suggests that "the academic is more notable than the average college instructor/professor" be used as a concise yardstick. For now I'll leave the tag on the article. It won't suddenly be deleted now that you've used the ((hangon}} tag. An administrator who knows far more about these things than I will review the article and act accordingly.
