User:Peter I. Vardy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am a retired doctor whose interest in subjects other than medicine and science, particularly local history, has been awakened by studying for an Open University degree in the Humanities. Editing Wikipedia has opened a new interest for me in cultural heritage, and most of my contributions relate to historic sites in Cheshire and the surrounding areas. More recently I have been compiling lists of listed buildings.

I believe in knowledge being open and freely available. That is why my user name is my real name. The 'I' is to distinguish me from Sir Peter Vardy, the car salesman, and Dr Peter Vardy PhD, the theologian who writes Christian evangelical books. So far as I know, I am not related to either of these, or to the footballer Jamie Vardy.
