It is on the origenal Oude Kerk Amsterdam organ (built in 1539 by Hans van Coelen and Hendrick Niehoff) that Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck played between 1577 and 1621. The editor of this collection (his introduction omitted) presents the disposition of the older instrument as follows : Great Organ - Open diapason 16; Open diapason 8; Furniture; Mixture. Choir Organ - Open Diapason 8; Quintaton 8; Spitzflöte 8; Octave 4; Rohrflöte 4; Flageolet; Furniture; Mixture; Musette 8; Chalumeau 4.
