LATEST FORECAST Traverse City, MI

Most of Northern Michigan is going on a week or longer since we had any rain. While showers or perhaps a thunderstorm are possible Friday there won't be a significant amount of rain. A better chance appears to finally arrive in the early to mid part of next week.

THURSDAY (SEP 19): The same story again, with mostly sunny skies/dry weather hanging on. Highs from 77-87F. South wind 5-15 mph but onshore near the Great Lakes in the afternoon.

FRIDAY (SEP 20): An approaching frontal boundary will try to work into Northern Michigan Friday but have difficulty doing so with very little moisture to interact with. We'll probably see some increase in clouds (at least partly cloudy skies) and perhaps a few scattered showers and even the possibility for an afternoon-evening thunderstorm. Even if we can squeak out some rain it won't be widespread...scattered throughout the day. Highs Friday from 78-86F. South wind 10-20 mph.

SATURDAY (SEP 21): It appears we'll see some dense fog (it could be widespread) in the early to mid-morning hours before that mixes out with lots of sunshine the rest of the day. Saturday's highs will be between 75 and 87F.

EXTENDED FORECAST: We'll maintain the risk for a shower or two into Saturday (but again little if any rain) is expected. Quiet Sunday but it appears that we could see some showers ahead of a low-pressure system that will approach later Monday through Tuesday bringing a much better chance for some beneficial rain. Temperatures remain above normal through the weekend but will drop some back into the upper-60's/low-70's early next week.
