La bête (1975)
Pretentious Euro Fetish Porn
This Movie is complete crap! Avoid this waste of celluloid at all costs, it is rambling and incoherent. I pride myself on plumbing the depths of 70's sleaze cinema from everything from Salo to Salon Kitty. I like being shocked, but I need a coherent story. However if watching horses mate gets you off this film is for you. The saddest part was that lame werewolf suit with the functional wang. I mean its just plain hard to sit through, not to mention the acting is terrible and the soundtrack is dubbed badly. Please, I know the cover is interesting (what looks like a gorillas hands reaching for a woman's bare ass)but don't waste your time or money as you won't get either back.
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Cinematic Gold!
This film is pure cinematic gold, anyone who says it's not is just plain filled with bitterness. It was great to see a film without a 100 million dollar budget, and no CGI special effects. This was just a really funny really sweet story. Yes sometimes it was a bit of dark comedy (ala the cow and the school bus), but it really gave me my moneys worth and I left the theater feeling like a million bucks. To those who say its a Wes Anderson rip off and recycled 80's nostalgia I say HA! you just don't get it. It was the little touches that made this movie special, like when they get to the Dance and Alphaville's Forever Young is playing. I just wish I had waited to see the additional 5 minutes they're going to put in at the end now.
They Are Among Us (2004)
Really Creepy, catch it if you can.
Just finished watching its on the Sci-Fi Channel, and its much better than I expected from a TV movie. It was especially good to see Bruce Boxleitner and Nana Visitor working together as they are from my two favorite shows of all times, Babylon 5 and Star Trek:DS9 respectively. Allison Eastwood brings one word to mind, HOT! She can hold me at gunpoint anytime. I don't know who he is but that guy who played Uncle Bob really creeped me out, He kind of reminds me of this weirdo who walks around my campus handing out bibles. I also liked the "Guardian" alien, whoever did the special effects did a great job on that thing. Now I don't know his name but the actor who played the mechanic gave a decent performance as well. Overall I highly recommend it, it has an Invasion of the body snatchers, meets they live feel to it.
Blade Runner (1982)
One of the most perfect films of all time.
Star wars is is nothing compared to Blade Runner. Blade Runner Asks us "What is it to be human?" and questions the nature of reality as the Matrix has more recently. Blade Runner exceeds both of these films, thank you Mr. Scott you are a genius.
Salò o le 120 giornate di Sodoma (1975)
A forgotten gem.
Not for everyone, but still a masterpiece of cinema. For Horror fans, when you've become bored with everything else take the time to seek out this film. This Film is true horror. Defenitely not for everyone but if you think you can handle it give Salo a try, I guarantee even the most hardend fans of horror will be squirming through it.
