Question from Liam9287 (21:48, 11 October 2024)

[edit]

Hi, I've wanted to help contribute to Wikipedia for a long time and now I am! I have made 7 total edits to the articles: Aeroflot Flight 11 and Chiaphua Components Group. I am excited to do more. The thing I've wanted to do most is create articles on food dishes that have not yet been added. I need some help with creating an article. The Wikipedia guide is very long and I wanted a summarization. Thank you! --Liam9287 (talk) 21:48, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Liam9287! Sorry for the delay in getting you a response :). Welcome to Wikipedia! While it would be hard to summarize anything for you as Wikipedia is very vast in its scope, this short tutorial should give you a quick sense of what the encyclopedia is all about. Cheers! Question from Liam9287 (23:07, 16 October 2024)

[edit]

Hi, I have a question. I wanna add company logos to articles that lack it, but I don't know if I will get in trouble for copyright. Am I able to add them? --Liam9287 (talk) 23:07, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Liam9287,
You might benefit from taking a look at this help topic, which goes in depth about copyright questions when talking about logos specifically. For company logos, there are some exceptions if they consist of geometric shapes etc. which can be considered fair use for the purpose of an encyclopedia. But you should refer to the help topic linked first.
Cheers! Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 21:44, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi I actually had this, and the question below, answered in the Teahouse. But I will check this out, thank you! Liam9287 (talk) 21:50, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Hectorinaaa (01:47, 18 October 2024)

[edit]

Is this draft alright? Draft:Anne Marie Vasa. --Hectorinaaa (talk) 01:47, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @Hectorinaaa, I took a look at the draft. Can you explain how you think she is notable? This is the comment that the previous draft reviewer left, and at this point it cannot really be said that she passes the notability criteria for a biography on Wikipedia. Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 22:33, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How can I make it notable, In other words, what can I add? Hectorinaaa (talk) 00:07, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Hectorinaaa, you cannot make someone notable. On Wikipedia, a person is presumed to be notable if the depth of coverage in any given source is not substantial, then multiple independent sources may be combined to demonstrate notability; trivial coverage of a subject by secondary sources is not usually sufficient to establish notability.
Note that there are some additional criteria that could show the notability of someone on Wikipedia even if the above is not met:
  • The person has received a well-known and significant award or honor, or has been nominated for such an award several times; or
  • The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in a specific field; or
  • The person has an entry in a country's standard national biographical dictionary (e.g. the Dictionary of National Biography).

More information here! Let me know if you have any other questions, Cocobb8 (💬 talk • ✏️ contribs) 14:37, 19 October 2024 (UTC)

Question from Liam9287 (18:00, 18 October 2024)

[edit]

Heya, I found a page with grammar that is not so good. I have an app called Grammarly which can correct grammar for you. I was curious if I could use it for the article to fix the grammar, or if it isn't allowed. --Liam9287 (talk) 18:00, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and also can I use it for copyedits too? Sorry if I'm asking a lot Liam9287 (talk) 18:07, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Could I ask your feedback on this article? Władysław Konstanty Vasa --Hectorinaaa (talk) 07:22, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Hectorinaaa, overall, great job, but I'd like to see more references, especially for those statements (sentences) that are not referenced. How can you show that this is true?
His gravestone was erected by Cardinal Giovanni Francesco Albani (later known as Pope Clement XI) the gravestone was placed for him in the walls near the entrance of the Sacristy of the Santissime Stimmate di San Francesco.
