For the food-obsessed, the real star of "Big Night" isn't Stanley Tucci or Tony Shalhoub, or even Is\abella Rossellini. It's the extravagant golden-crusted timballo with which the immigrant-restaurateur brothers Primo and Secondo dazzle their banquet guests.
In earlier scenes, we got to see this festive dish being assembled -- cooked pasta infused with a lush sauce and laced with mushrooms, hard-cooked eggs and a sprinkling of meatballs, all of it trapped inside a rich, eggy pastry dough and baked in a deep basin in the oven.
