In planning the future development of the former railway land, there is great potential to integrate the greenery and heritage structures with new developments along the railway land, as seen from similar successful overseas projects, such as the High Line in New York City and the Promenade Plantée in Paris. This project will offer new choices in outdoor recreation and leisure activities for the community. We hope that it will encourage people to explore parts of Singapore that was less accessible before. For example, the railway corridor can bring you from Tanjong Pagar right to the doorstep of the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve without having to cross any roads! You can also expect to enjoy the rich heritage landmarks along the rail corridor, including significant World War II sites such as the Ford Factory, Bukit Timah battle site and the Kranji War Memorial.
