About Pop Concerts & Dance Music in Mallorca

Mallorca manages to attract its fair share of well known international artists to play live in one of its many venues - Palma Arena, the ONO (football) stadium, Palma Auditorium, the Es Gremi Music Centre and in other venues scattered across the island.

In recent years they have seen concerts by The Happy Mondays, Guns'n'Roses, Kool & the Gang, China Crisis, Placebo and one particularly special occasion where Elton John gave a concert along with Andrea Bocelli at the Ono Palma de Mallorca football stadium. The legendary DJ Carl Cox performs regularly at various venues on the Island along with fellow DJ's Andy Cato and Tom Findlay (better known as Groove Armada), and of course Pete Tong and a whole host of others. 

Magaluf boasts some of the most happening dance music and an amazing clubbing scene, with Mallorca Rocks (although 2014 is set to be their last season on the Island) and BCM Planet Dance hosting plenty of parties during the summer season. BCM Planet Dance is a vast nightclub with all the usual parties and go-go dancers, plus an impressive guest DJ list (think Tiesto, Tinie Tempah, N-dubz, Calvin Harris, Labrinth, Far East Movement, Laidback Luke, DJ Sammy, Cascada, Eddie Halliwell, Judge Jules, Howard Donald, Krafty Kuts, Kutski, Mickey Slim, Mistajam, Tim Westwood, Trevor Nelson, DJ Semtex and Roll Deep - if you're into your dance music!). BCM Planet Dance are also running a series of live concerts featuring many big names (Jessie J, Example, Dappy etc) during the summer on Tuesday and Sunday evenings.

The local music scene is also worth checking out. Many bars in Palma and across the Island feature live music. The bars in the Can Barbara area of the city (a little marina up by the cruise ship terminal) have DJ nights and a selection of live music. Plus some folk and flamenco nights with dance as well as traditional music...why not give it a go yourself and join in with some flamenco moves!
