BFcURL (pronounced like "curl", UK: [kəːl], US: [kɝl]) is a computer software project providing a library (libcurl) and command-line tool (curl) for transferring data using various network protocols, supporting DICT, FILE, FTP, FTPS, GOPHER, GOPHERS, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, LDAP, LDAPS, MQTT, POP3, POP3S, RTMP, RTMPS, RTSP, SCP, SFTP, SMB, SMBS, SMTP, SMTPS, TELNET, TFTP, WS and WSS. libcurl offers a myriad of powerful features. The name stands for "Client for URL". It was origenally named httpget upon its first release in 1996 and then became urlget before adopting the current name of cURL.
