- Dasyatis marianae és una espècie de peix de la família dels dasiàtids i de l'ordre dels myliobatiformes. Els adults poden assolir 40 cm de longitud total. És ovovivípar. És un peix marí, de clima tropical (0°S-19°S) i demersal que viu entre 2-15 m de fondària. Es troba a l'Oceà Atlàntic sud-occidental: el Brasil (des de Maranhão fins al sud de Bahia). - The Brazilian large-eyed stingray, Dasyatis marianae, is a species of stingray in the family Dasyatidae. Endemic to northeastern Brazil, adults of this species inhabit shallow coral and sandstone reefs while the young are also found near beaches and in estuaries. This stingray measures up to 40 cm (16 in) across and can be identified by its large eyes, equally long fin folds above and below the tail, and distinctive coloration consisting of various dark brown markings on a yellowish-brown background above, and two pairs of dark brown blotches on a white background below. Reproduction is aplacental viviparous, with females giving birth to one young at a time, twice a year, and using sandbanks as nursery areas. The Brazilian large-eyed stingray is collected by artisanal fisheries and for the ornamental fish trade. (en)

Они являются эндемиками тропических вод центрально-западной части Атлантического океана, омывающих северное побережье Бразилии. Встречаются на глубине до 15 м. Максимальная зарегистрированная ширина диска 40 см. Грудные плавники этих скатов срастаются с головой, образуя ромбовидный диск. Рыло слегка заострённое. Хвост длиннее диска. Глаза очень крупные и выступающие. Окраска дорсальной поверхности диска желтовато-коричневого цвета с тёмными коричневыми отметинами. Позади ядовитого шипа на хвостовом стебле расположены вентральный и дорсальный кожные кили одинаковой длины. На вентральной поверхности диска, окрашенной в белый цвет, имеется пара тёмно-коричневых отметин. Подобно прочим хвостоколообразным Dasyatis marianae размножаются яйцеживорождением. Эмбрионы развиваются в утробе матери, питаясь желтком и гистотрофом. В помёте один новорожденный. Самки приносят потомство 2 раза в год. Являются объектом кустарного промысла.
