- Das Outre-Forêt (Unteremwàld auf elsässisch) ist eine naturräumliche Region im Norden des Elsass, das unmittelbar an Rheinland-Pfalz grenzt. Outre-Forêt bedeutet „jenseits des Walds“, was auf den Hagenauer Wald bezogen ist. Im Norden ist es von dem Bienwald und von dem Fluss Lauter, im Osten vom Petit Ried und vom Rhein, im Westen von den Nordvogesen und dem Falkensteinerbach begrenzt. Abseits von größeren Straßen und touristischen Routen, hat das Outre-Forêt seine Traditionen beibehalten können. Es gibt zahlreiche Fachwerkhäuser, außerdem wird traditionell dem Töpferhandwerk nachgegangen und in den Weinbergen Wein angebaut. (de)
- The Outre-Forêt (Unteremwàld in Alsatian) is a natural region which is located in the very north of Alsace, bordering on Rhineland-Palatinate. Outre-Forêt means in French beyond the forest,beyond the Haguenau Forest. To the north, it is bounded by the Bienwald as well as by the Lauter.To the east, it is bounded by the Rhine and the Petit Ried. To the west, it is bounded bythe Northern Vosges and the River Falkensteinerbach. As a frontier zone off the beaten tracks,the Outre-Forêt has managed to keep its traditions; numerous timbered houses can be admired,pottery is well developed. Far away from the traditional Alsatian vineyards, grapes are grown here. (en)

Comme son nom le suggère, elle se trouve « "sous forêts" soit par rapport au sens d'écoulement du Rhin au-delà » de la forêt de Haguenau. Elle est limitée au nord par le Bienwald et la Lauter, à l'est par le Rhin, à l'ouest par le Falkensteinerbach mais sans marquage précis. Zone frontalière marquée par l'histoire, à l'écart des grands axes mais aussi des itinéraires touristiques les plus convenus, elle a préservé ses propres traditions : architecture à colombages fortement représentée, poterie originale, production viticole excentrée par rapport au vignoble d'Alsace.
