Description

LAC caption : "Naval ratings firing a three-inch gun aboard a Bangor-class minesweeper of the Royal Canadian Navy (R.C.N.) during working-up exercises off Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada, 1943"


NOTE : The gun appears in fact to be a BL 4-inch Mk IX. It is identified by its size, the screw breech, the gunners carrying BL cartridge containers, the extensive box shape of the gun shield typical of the BL 4-inch Mk IX, and the tubular recuperator above the breech.
