Category:Riad Shehata
Riad Shehata (Arabic: رياض باشا شحاتة) was the official photographer of the King of Egypt. He died in 1942. Egypt has a 50-year post mortem auctoris term of copyright protection, so all of Riad Shehata's photographs have been in the public domain there since 1992. Because their copyright had already expired in their source country on the URAA date (January 1, 1996), such works did not qualify for copyright restoration in the United States, and are thus also in the public domain there. It should be noted that the Riad Shehata Studio continued to operate under the same name for several years after Shehata's death. Only pre-1942 photographs taken by Shehata himself are in the public domain. Other photographs may still be copyrighted.
