Description
Español: Carta de Wenceslao Escalante (1852-1912) a Ovidio Lagos (1825-1891) enviada el 18 de marzo de 1879 en la cual expresa que ha recibido su carta del mes corriente y que supone que la urgencia de su partida no le había permitido despedirse personalmente. Agrega que no es suyo el reparar en formalidades cuando se trata de amigos como Lagos. Le dice que sus exhortaciones patrióticas no serán desoídas pero será necesario que actúen con cautela para asegurar el triunfo de sus intenciones y no otorgar poder a sus enemigos. Recomienda dejar a la resolución de la mayoría de su partido lo que corresponda y evitar fomentar la desunión. Se pregunta como deben actuar si en lugar de sugerir nombres se basan en principios. Comenta que "La Tribuna" ha publicado en su contra un artículo de "La Capital", lo cual les daña dado el carácter de Lagos de miembro de su comité.
