BearbeitenDer Gemeindeverband entstand mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2017 durch die Fusion der Vorgängerorganisationen
- Reims Métropole,
- Communauté de communes de la Vallée de la Suippe,
- Communauté de communes des Rives de la Suippe,
- Communauté de communes Beine-Bourgogne,
- Communauté de communes du Nord Champenois,
- Communauté de communes Fismes Ardre et Vesle,
- Communauté de communes Champagne Vesle und
- Communauté de communes Vesle et Coteaux de la Montagne de Reims.
Gleichzeitig traten 18 Gemeinden der aufgelassenen Communauté de communes Ardre et Châtillonnais dem hiesigen Verband bei.
