AlphaSmart
Thank you for your help on the AlphaSmart article. Since you seem to know a bit about these little machines, I was hoping you'd know who the actual developers of the machine were... All I know is that it was 2 former Apple Computer employees. Thanks. --CoolFox 06:40, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- I know the company's name is AlphaSmart and the company was bought out by Renaissance Learning, but I don't know the names of the specific developers. I hadn't heard much about the company until a couple of months ago. Chris53516 18:59, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Ncurve2.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Ncurve2.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

- I'm having difficulty figuring out what the copyright is on this. There is no author cited in the study, so I contacted the administrator. I really like the image, so I would like to use it. Since it appears to be a public school system, I would think it's open to public use. If anyone can help me out with this, that would be great. Chris53516 13:50, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

Help with Image:Ncurve2.gif
As I noted on my talk page, I'm not sure what the copyright is on this image. Before you delete the image, would you have the time to help me figure it out? Chris53516 13:54, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
By the way, if we can't figure out what the copyright is, it's no big deal. I can replicate the idea on my own. It would simply save time to do it this way. Chris53516 13:57, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey! I requested some help, do you mind? Before you go about deleting the graphic? I don't take well to being ignored. Chris53516 13:27, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Your bot is not working properly. The image I uploaded is NOT even 7 days old yet. I uploaded it Monday, and your bot removed the graphics already! What's the deal? And you won't help out, either! Give me a break! You should take responsibility for your edits! Chris53516 14:45, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
Quote from the copyright template:
- The individual who uploaded this work found it on an unconfirmed website. An experienced editor should help the uploader determine the status of this work, and help the uploader understand the process for picking the correct license in the future.
I'm asking for your help. I can't figure out if a public school is considered part of the government, and thus all that it does is open to the public or not. There is no tag that fits this graphic. It's from a report a school published on their webpage about student achievement. Why don't you help instead of just deleting it? Chris53516 14:54, 4 August 2006 (UTC)
If you want to actually respond to my requests, don't do it here. I'm not going to waste my time waiting for you to respond, so I'm taking you off of my watchlist. If you decide to finally respond, go to my talk page or better yet the page for the image. Chris53516 13:26, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry for taking so long to respond; I've been quite busy this past week. To put it simply, it's not clear that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, so it's best if you make a free-license replacement. There's nothing special about public schools that makes their images freely-usable; it's only the United States Federal Government that makes all its images freely usable.
- The purpose of the {{somewebsite}} template is as a placeholder while you ask for help. When the bot notified you about the image, it linked to Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, which is the best place to ask for help: there are at least a dozen people watching that page. --Carnildo 04:12, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Edits to AlphaSmart
Hi! If you would sign in, I could talk to you directly. Anyway, I think the Neo can actually display different fonts and fonts with different sizes. Please do not revert edits unless you have a really good argument for doing so. If you continue to revert edits and make changes without leaving comments, you could be banned. Chris53516 20:18, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- apologies: as a neo user, i know it only displays different size fonts, not different styles...you can confirm this at the alphasmart website...as for signing in, i'm a bit of dumb monkey...wouldn't know how if you paid me...besides: other than the comments added in the alphasmart and waiting for godot listings, i'm next to useless as a contributor...again: sorry for screwing around --h.quirk
- No problem. I thought they had variable fonts. Guess not. Thanks for being a nice user. You wouldn't believe some of the crazy people on here. Chris53516 20:33, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Please use my talk page for comments. Also, go ahead and change the AlphaSmart page again. Thanks again! Chris53516 20:39, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Checkuser
I recommend bringing this up at WP:ANI and let administrators know. A Checkuser may be required, but I think posting to the administrator's noticeboard is the first thing to do. Prodego talk 00:40, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Statistics article
Hi Chris. Thanks for the kind note on the Statistics article. I moved the references out of external links (they weren't external LINKS at all), and made them a bibliography for statistics, and added Dr. Joel Best's book to it. I also clarified the quote on "lies, damned lies, and statistics" to whom it has been reasonably shown to be from -- Disraeli and footnoted it as such. That was my intention. Bests. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 21:30, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- I see what you did, but the changes were confusing to follow, so I thought it would help users if you left a more detailed comment on the talk page. If you wouldn't mind doing that, like you just did, that'd be great. Thanks! Chris53516 21:33, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Hi Chris. Thanks for your kind thoughts. I have just posted it on the Talk:Statistics page. Best Wishes and many thanks for your help. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 21:38, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- Told to ask you question
(don't know how many and could be thousands) of people use this computer network, the same IP address, the same WiFi service, and many people even use the same computer and keyboard among the dozens of computers we have. I am not the above-mentioned user, but just use wikipedia and got some message about that i had new messages, and i didn't know what that meant, so the guy here told me i could write this. What does this mean are we not allowed to use or edit wikipedia with this IP address here at our computer lab? Could someone let me know. Guy here said clikc on Chris and ask you so i;ll do that now i guess. Thanks.
