This is NOT an encyclopedia article. It is someone's essay. There has not even been an attempt to provide a source or reference. It has been in this state for almost nine years. It will be flagged for deletion.

On review, I note how the term backline has been "creatively expanded" to include the cabinets owned by touring bands AND house gear owned by recording studios. Lacking any sources whatever, the content will be chopped to reflect the term's definition in the article lede graf.
