Number one on Billboard hot 100?

edit

When I check the number one singles currently on billboard hot 100 anti-hero by taylor swift is still number one and wrecking ball is still her only number one single. Why is billboard lying? Flowers hasn't even charted yet! Should I remove this?! Dinah5667 (talk) 20:48, 24 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Yes. Jjjjfghh (talk) 21:08, 10 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

It’s release date is January 13,2023.

edit

Every article or source says the release date is January 13, 2023. Yes of course it was released earlier in other countries including the U.S but that doesn’t change the fact it’s release date is the 13th. Jjjjfghh (talk) 00:49, 11 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

No, not every source states Flowers was released on January 13. Glamour, iHeartRadio, and PopSugar confirm the single was released on January 12 in the United States, as does Miley Cyrus herself, who announced on social media days before the song's release the song would be released a day earlier in some regions. In these cases, the earliest release date should be given, as listing January 13 would contradict the fact the song was already technically officially available in the US, where it was still the previous day and Miley is also from. Additionally, this is literally the same situation with Prisoner, which was released on November 19, 2020, UTC+00:00, so in some countries it was already November 20, but this earlier date is given in the Wikipedia article, so we should treat Flowers the same.

Orphaned references in Flowers (Miley Cyrus song)

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Flowers (Miley Cyrus song)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ARIA":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. Feel free to remove this comment after fixing the refs. AnomieBOT 09:33, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 4 January 2025

Flowers (Miley Cyrus song)Flowers (song) – The Miley Cyrus song has hit number one in over 40 countries and was the best-selling single of 2023 per the IFPI, in addition to topping the year-end Billboard Global 200 for 2023. In addition, it won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year as well as the Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance.
As for the other exact matches with articles, the Billy Yates song did not chart outside of the US and only charted on Hot Country Songs. The Lauren Spencer-Smith song did not attain any top-10 positions, did not make any year-end charts, and did not attain certifications higher than Single Platinum. Finally, the Sweet Female Attitude song did not chart outside of Europe, and peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart with a 2x Platinum certification in the United Kingdom.
On the other hand, when comparing against the Sweet Female Attitude song (the most successful of the other songs), the Miley song peaked at number-one on the UK Singles Chart and stayed there for 10 weeks. In addition, it is certified 3x Platinum in the United Kingdom and was the year-end number one of 2023 in that country.
Finally, with respect to [[1]], the Miley song has 10x the page views of the Sweet Female Attitude song, 100x the page views of the Lauren Spencer-Smith song, and 1000x the page views of the Billy Yates song. However, the Miley song is newer than all the three other songs, as the Sweet Female Attitude song had its page created in 2013, the Lauren Spencer-Smith song was released in 2022, and the Billy Yates song had its page created in 2021. This means that the Miley song attained its views in the shortest timespan of all four pages.
For the above reasons, I believe that the Miley Cyrus song is the primary topic with respect to songs. N0nuun (talk) 20:21, 4 January 2025 (UTC)Reply
