Galapagos Microplate Image
editObservations:
- I thought it might be helpful if the word Nazca appeared on the image. It is the only plate that is not identified, and I had to read the image caption in order to orient myself properly.
- What do the numbers and arrows refer to? Could be identified in a legend?
- The Northern Galapagos Plate is not labelled, but is referred to in the article. SquashEngineer (talk) 13:41, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
pacific plate moving NE?
editIn the Geology section:
> The Pacific plate is moving the fastest at 95 mm/yr NE
Surely that should be NW. Jlittlenz (talk) 22:50, 9 December 2024 (UTC)
Collisions?
editThis article mentions plate collisions repeatedly. As far as I'm aware, the only plate boundaries in the area of the triple junction are divergent and transform in type - the nearest collisional boundary lies well to the east. I will attempt to rewrite this article once I'm finished with the Cocos-Nazca spreading centre and Galápagos spreading centre. Mikenorton (talk) 12:28, 27 December 2024 (UTC)
