Proposed merge with Bacterial gliding
editMerging of info would be helpful - basically same concept - mostly used by bacteria but Gliding motility would also cover other microorganisms Iztwoz (talk) 17:21, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
- Totally agree, topics could be merged as motility and bacterial gliding cover nearly identical information. Adding a figure explaining some of this to the gliding motility page in a little bit. Includes polysaccharide expression, Type IV pili, and Flavobacterium type gliding motility. Combining the pages would clear some confusion up I'm sure. -Scheperi (talk) 17:34, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Not the same as bacterial gliding
editFor a long time I have been wikiliking to this page whenever referring to the gliding motion of flagellated eukaryotes. However, as I just noticed, the gliding motion explained in this article is completely different, since the flagella do not participate. I suggest either un-merging or making an entirely new section dedicated to eukaryotic gliding motion, and removing the "without flagella" part from the lead. — Snoteleks (talk) 17:03, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
