I've been editing Wikipedia since late 2004 and now have over 80,000 edits. Initially I worked on more gnome-like tasks, but have branched into writing articles, primarily about nautical topics and most often individual ships. I enjoy researching and finding notable ships that are not already covered by Wikipedia and writing articles for them. From the links above you can explore lists of articles I've helped to promote to Good Article status, to A-Class, and to Featured Article status. I have had one article, SS Ohioan (1914), featured as Today's Featured Article on the Main Page, as well as 84 new or expanded articles featured in the "Did You Know?" section there as well.

I'm most active in WikiProject Ships and WikiProject Military history, and served as an elected coordinator of the latter project from March to September 2009.

About me

edit

For those who are interested in me (an interest misplaced, I firmly believe), here are a few tidbits:

  • I'm a native Texan, but don't even own a pair of boots or a cowboy hat
  • I'm married with two kids and four cats
  • I paint (and have one painting in a university collection)
  • I like to travel but haven't had the funds to do so recently
  • I'm old enough to know better, but not enough to be old
