Much ado has been made over recall. To me, recall is an ideal for all admins, in that I think that, should a decent number of respected users request your desysopping, that any admin would step aside for the good of the project. I don't see the need to set these stats in stone (10 respected users with at least 500 edits, etc.) The point is, if you've messed up so badly that you've lost the trust of a significant portion of the community, you should resign, before the Arbitration Committee forcibly does it for you.
Whether you're part of a category saying this, or it's just an ideal, I think admins should basically adhere to this concept. And I think most do- many users have given up their adminship temporarily or permanently in the wake of controversy.
