File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Chirp Waveform TB=25 and Target Spectrum.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:26, 12 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Chirp Waveform with TB=25 and Target Spectrum.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Chirp Waveform with TB=25 and Target Spectrum.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A section summarising some properties of FFT data has been added

edit

I think these are good additions, but wonder if they should be in the DFT or even Fourier Transform pages. Properties that are more general than the FFT algorithm might be better on more general pages. Just wondering. Gah4 (talk) 21:01, 28 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Fast Fourier transform, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nyquist and Cisoid. The article Lattice Delay Networks looks good to me. It is approachable to anyone with any background in electronics, filtering or signal processing. I would recommend it for immediate publication as it is more clear and concise than most of the articles already in the category of signal processing. If you are unfamiliar with the subject matter, you should not be declining an article. DrSchlagger (talk) 21:12, 11 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Tangential Sensitivity.png

edit

The file File:Tangential Sensitivity.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 23 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I've gone through my article only to find that you have corrected the errors you were concerned about. Thank you. I was embarrassed to see how many there were!
In the past, I have found "<ref>" and "<ref name = >" adequate for my purposes, but in an existing article, where I have been adding text and where the "sfn" convention was common, I was set a problem. I decided to use the "sfn" method when I had multiple links to a new reference, but the "<ref>" method when references were few. (You may disagree with that).
Thank you, David. D1ofBerks (talk) 15:56, 14 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Hi, Thanks for your comments. In places where the references are before the punctuation are typos, they were not meant to be like that, as I am aware of the rule even though I think it is wrong (the references, after all, belong to the sentence). As to having no spaces between references, I would prefer to have a space when a page number is given, for clarity, to avoid confusion between it and another reference number.
However, rules are rules, so I shall I conform!

George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham

Hi, thanks for your additions to George Villiers, 2nd Duke of Buckingham. Unfortunately you ran into some problems with the sfn style of referencing. It's probably easier to show you what I did to fix them rather than try to explain. If you look at this diff you can see the changes I made to get them working correctly. Lots of editors, myself included, make similar slips with this style of referencing, it is peculiarly hard to get right! One thing I find useful is to use User:Trappist_the_monk/HarvErrors.js - this highlights harv/sfn errors on the page. Anyway, thanks again and I hope the diff and the tool I linked are helpful to you in future. All the best, DuncanHill (talk) 16:26, 6 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
