ISSS

edit

Hi, maybe you noticed I wrote the series of articles about the ISSS Presidents. Now I just created an article about Allenna Leonard, but I couldn't find a internet source which confirms she is the ISSS President-elect 2009-2010. I only saw you webpage on facebooks mentioned it.

Now I have hidden this fact for now in the two articles. Could you help me with this? Could you give me a reliable source that confirms this. -- Marcel Douwe Dekker (talk) 15:45, 31 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Marcel. We try to keep http://isss.org/world/administration/board up to date. Daviding (talk) 03:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add advertising or inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. The links that I added were for extensive photographs of places cited. I believe that they were appropriate to the content. I am not advertising, and my content is non-commercial. I have read the sections on inappropriate link, and am not a newcomer. I link to Wikipedia regularly on these web pages, and thought that by providing more images, I was doing a service. I guess that isn't the interpretation of the day -- I had done this previously for other web pages -- so now, I'm frustrated. Daviding (talk) 17:03, 20 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Stephan H. Haeckel

edit

The article Stephan H. Haeckel has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. –Dream out loud (talk) 19:36, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I'm a newbie. I've added one reference. Daviding (talk) 22:18, 24 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Categories

edit

You said ... "Melcolme, thanks for cleaning up the categories on Marketing science . (I'm a newbie when it comes to new Wikipedia articles). I inherited the categories from Operations research , from which Marketing science has a heritage, so I don't appreciate whether the categories (e.g. Applied mathematics) apply or not. Marketing science without mathematics (wouldn't be much of a science). Daviding (talk) 15:04, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

Categorisation is discussed at WP:CAT. It seems best not to use over-general categories for single articles where those categories already contain many articles, but rather to look for good sub-categories. And there should be some indication in the article to suggest that the category is appropriate, so perhaps when the text is expanded more categories would be obviously needed. In the case of Marketing science, of which I see you started the present version and are saying is distinct from market research, you might think about making a new category Category:Marketing science to which could be added topics that are not included in Category:Market research, to bring them together. Then the new category could be placed in Category:Applied mathematics in the same way that Category:Actuarial science appears there. Melcombe (talk) 15:52, 5 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Richard Normann, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Rafael Ramirez and Rafael Ramírez (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Archive URL

edit

Hi.

Thanks for the archive link in OpenOffice.org XML. There is just a small issue: All archive links must go into |archiveurl=. Please leave the dead link in |url= unaltered. Also, a |archivedate= needs to be added too. (It holds the date in which the page is archived. In this case, 5 April 2006.) I hope this isn't much trouble for you.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
