Fine. It is confusing at first. I have made similar errors. Raggz (talk) 23:44, 7 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Luke, your edits at Rationale for the Iraq War are mostly happening within the article, not within TALK. I have also often done this and frustrated editors who had to write to me and ask me to get consensus on TALK first. Please read Consensus. I still do what you are doing, but now far less than when I was as new as you are. There is no firm rule that says you can never edit the article directly, and I think that sometimes you should (but far less frequently). Regards - Raggz (talk) 07:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to The Odyssey (1962 Lassie TV series episodes) appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Image-Cluster bomb.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sdrtirs (talk) 00:42, 29 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Israel Scheffler

edit

A tag has been placed on Israel Scheffler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Veronika Zemanová

edit

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Veronika Zemanová requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} at the top of the article, immediately below the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate), and providing your reasons for contesting on the article's talk page, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

Speedy deletion nomination of Denise Milani (model)

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Denise Milani (model), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Denise Milani (model) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Hullaballoo Wolfowitz (talk) 16:54, 7 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Denise Milani (model)

edit

The article Denise Milani (model) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

non-notable glamour model.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your edit summary

edit

If you don't want to be seen as inappropriately critical about other editors, you may want to avoid edit summary comments like "why, good sir, are you against facts?", as you recently used in Fred Karger. If you wanted to know why the insertion had been undone, you need merely have looked at the edit summaries; a statement about work which Karger had done was put into a section specifically about his political positions. This misplacement could be seen as an assumption that someone who worked for the tobacco company must hold their political position as his; many a salesmen does not truly believe in his product, so we cannot make that assumption. --Nat Gertler (talk) 04:35, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Your question on the media industry

edit

Feel free to ask, but I don't guarantee to have a useful answer; the media business is a large one, and I've often worked around the edges of it. --Nat Gertler (talk) 05:37, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hi Nat. Thank you so much. I was just wondering, how can one get "into" the industry? Like, I am working on a script that I hope will become a movie. How can I meet an agent who will read it? I am in college now. Or is it just unrealistic of me to expect that it would become a movie? Thank you so much for your help. --Jo (talk) 19:04, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've never even tried to sell a motion picture screenplay, so I really have no insider knowledge there. The odds on selling a screenplay are long, of course; many people want in on that business. On the other hand, just about every picture that's on the screen was written by someone... or a bunch of someones... who started with an unrequested script. That may not be the movie that's being made - Iron Man 3 isn't being made because some student had a script that happened to have that title, they know they want to make the film, and they hire a screenwriter to give them something to film - but even then, the person they hire started in the business with a screenplay that no one asked for. So is it realistic to expect that they will make a movie of your screenplay? well, yes... but it's unrealistic to expect to become a screenwriter through any other method. --Nat Gertler (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for that. I'll try and see what happens. Thanks so much once again for your advice. --Jo (talk) 01:00, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Copy and paste edits

edit

Hi: Looking at your contributions, I was surprised to find that last month you copied and pasted from a source in several articles, and judging by your edit summaries apparently didn't notice that the IP editor who was reverting you was giving copyvio as a reason. Even if the material includes a quotation, it is never acceptable to copy and paste. You should avoid doing so even as a first step to paraphrasing, because copyvio is a serious matter and it's far too easy to leave wording unaltered - always summarize instead. I wonder why the IP editor never posted here to point this out to you, but you've been here a long time; maybe they figured you knew this. So, I'm pointing it out now. Quite apart from issues of undue weight, copyvio is an automatic revert. I hope that makes things clearer if you hadn't realized. Yngvadottir (talk) 12:56, 20 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

Help with article?

Hi,

I noticed you're a member of the Wikipedia Private Equity Task Force. I wonder if you'd be willing to help me out by reviewing Draft: Fifth Wall Ventures for publication. It's a VC-firm focused on real estate with about $200m under management.

Although I am an experienced Wikipedia editor and always try to abide by the five pillars, in this case I have a conflict of interest (disclosed on the Talk page), so Wikipedia policy requires that all my work be reviewed by an independent editor before it's published. I'd be glad to do any additional work you think the article requires.

Thanks for considering this!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Naunihal Singh. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
