Question about a redirect of yours

Is there a reason you created Catholic whore as a redirect to Louise de Kérouaille, Duchess of Portsmouth? The page doesn't mention the term. Clovermoss🍀 (talk) 17:57, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Somehow I knew that this was finna be the specific redirect of discussion. In any case, the term is connected to Nell Gwyn. Both her and Kérouaille were one of the numerous mistresses of Charles II of England, and the two were bitter rivals. In one famous instance, Gwyn was traveling through the streets of Oxford when a crowd mistook her for her rival and began heckling and name-calling her. She then put hear head out of her coach and stated "Good people", she said, smiling, "you are mistaken; I am the Protestant whore." The Catholic whore was Kérouaille, who was widely detested by the English for being a foreign Frenchwoman, characteristics that should also hint that she was Catholic, another factor contributing to the resentment. Now although the term isn't listed in the article, it is a popular nickname as a byproduct of the incident, ([6], [7], [8], [9], [10]), with some sources insinuating that Gwyn's response was directly caused by the mob calling her the "Catholic whore." @Clovermoss:Knightoftheswords 19:25, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

Invitation to Cornell study on Wikipedia discussions

Hello Knightoftheswords281,

I’m reaching out as part of a Cornell University academic study investigating the potential for user-facing tools to help improve discussion quality within Wikipedia discussion spaces (such as talk pages, noticeboards, etc.). We chose to reach out to you because you have been highly active on various discussion pages .

The study centers around a prototype tool, ConvoWizard, which is designed to warn Wikipedia editors when a discussion they are replying to is getting tense and at risk of derailing into personal attacks or incivility. More information about ConvoWizard and the study can be found at our research project page on meta-wiki.

If this sounds like it might be interesting to you, you can use this link to sign up and install ConvoWizard. Of course, if you are not interested, feel free to ignore this message.

If you have any questions or thoughts about the study, our team is happy to discuss! You may direct such comments to me or to my collaborator, Cristian_at_CornellNLP.

Thank you for your consideration.

Big blue blob redirect

Stumbled across this redirect – is this really going to help users? It's a search term that could be ambiguous, and even if the EU4 use is the primary topic, I would think Europa Universalis IV is a better target; however, there's no info relating to the term on either page.
