- Propose merging Category:Jewish inventors to Category:Inventors
Nominator's rationale: Unencyclopedic, non-notable cross-categorisation of ethnicity and unrelated occupation. In the same way that being "Lutheran" or "Catholic" has no influence on someone being an athlete (example per WP:OCEGRS), being "Jewish" has no influence on someone being an inventor. If both their ethnicity/religion and their occupation are defining characteristics, then it's probably for different reasons and should be different categories. - Shouldn't this rationale apply to all subcategories of Category:Jews by occupation? Should all of them be deleted? BD2412 T 21:31, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- There's maybe a half dozen or so which could pose problem, or which could also refer to the religion and not the ethnicity (Category:Jewish philosophers, as example; or the obvious Category:Jewish religious leaders - these should probably be moved to a different category tree, as opposed to simply being up-merged to their nearest relative); or a few which contain mostly religious and/or historical characters (for ex. - Propose renaming Category:Sonthi Boonyaratglin to Category:2006 Thai coup d'état

- Support. This would also allow articles such as South Thailand insurgency and 2006 Hat Yai bombings to be added to the category. No prejudice against re-creation in its current form in the event of more articles about Boonyaratglin's presidency being suitable for it. Grutness...wha? 21:59, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
