- The result of the discussion was: delete. The option of having a list in the article was also rejected at Talk:Heroes_of_the_Storm#Roster. – Fayenatic London 08:46, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Not defining. These are pretty much all characters from other games who just appear in this crossover. ★Trekker (talk) 15:53, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:14, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment -- This is a well-populated category. Pure deletion should not be the outcome, but if nom is right, it might be merged. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:48, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

- Delete per nom. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:14, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Comment I would argue that inclusion in DBD is a defining characteristic for more than a few of the characters- mentions to their inclusion are present in the lede sections of Heather Mason, Pyramid Head, Nemesis (Resident Evil) and Nancy Wheeler to name a few. I don't see how this situation is different from Category:Super Smash Bros. fighters, considering how both categories lack original characters, but that category has been put up for deletion before as well. HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 21:09, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Absolutely not, and the Super Smash Bros. fighters category shouldn't exist either, it survived last CFD by pure luck.★Trekker (talk) 21:18, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- If you insist, then I suggest that you nominate that category for deletion as well. I'm in the camp that both should be kept, but it is unjust for both to be on the Wiki if there is no distinguishing reason why one crossover franchise can stay and one has to be removed. HadesTTW (he/him • talk) 04:29, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- I was the one who nominated it a couple of months ago, it would be bad form for me to renominate it so soon again.★Trekker (talk) 11:00, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: wrong venue. A template is being nominated, not a category. (non-admin closure) — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 02:19, 9 September 2022 (UTC)

- Redirect per nom. @Minorax: Is there some reason you brought this to CfD instead of just boldly redirecting it? * Pppery * it has begun... 18:14, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- @Pppery: I was unsure about how stub templates are sorted and it seems that the creator wanted to do something else. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 02:03, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

Category:Téléfilm Canada films
edit- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more categories. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the category's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was: delete. ✗plicit 01:17, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Telefilm is not a film studio, but merely a funding agency that provides grants to the studios, primarily for films by new and emerging filmmakers -- so it frequently gets "with the participation of" credits on Canadian films, but is never the producing studio because that's not what it does.
This category, further, was created only a few months ago by a now-blocked editor with no established record of editing on Canadian film and a habit of obsessive overcategorization, but was never deemed as desirable or warranted by those who actually edit on Canadian film. As well, they randomly selected just 20 films for the category, out of the hundreds upon thousands of films that received Telefilm grants -- but there's no value in making any attempt to hunt down the stragglers, because (a) there's no comprehensive list that can be consulted (even Telefilm itself doesn't self-publish a complete directory of every film it's ever given a grant to since 1967), and (b) films are defined by the studios that made them, not by the agencies or companies that happened to give money to the studios.
Also, it's unclear why the creator used the French form of the name instead of the English one — this is the English Wikipedia, so even if there were grounds to keep this it would have to be renamed to "Telefilm Canada films" anyway. Bearcat (talk) 14:10, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: merge. ✗plicit 01:18, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- Propose merging Category:Kingdom of Ireland to Category:Early Modern Ireland
- Nominator's rationale: The same period, Category:Kingdom of Ireland contains only two subcategories. Privybst (talk) 13:34, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. It is an odd situation that the two categories co-exist even without being directly interlinked. Marcocapelle (talk) 21:18, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Merge per nom. They are essentially the same thing. Peterkingiron (talk) 15:52, 4 September 2022 (UTC)
- Merge and redirect, to discourage re-creation, as there are three sub-cats with "Kingdom of Ireland" in their names. – Fayenatic London 09:15, 7 September 2022 (UTC)
- Alt 1 What about Category:History of Ireland (1536–1800)? After all, the Late Modern equivalent exists under a similar name: Category:History of Ireland (1801–1923). There should be consistency between the two categories. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Laurel Lodged (talk • contribs) 11:52, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: rename all. (non-admin closure) Qwerfjkltalk 16:21, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
- Propose renaming Category:Atlantic hurricane disambiguation pages to Category:Atlantic hurricane set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:Australian region cyclone disambiguation pages to Category:Australian region cyclone set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:North Indian cyclone disambiguation pages to Category:North Indian cyclone set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:Pacific hurricane disambiguation pages to Category:Pacific hurricane set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:South Pacific cyclone disambiguation pages to Category:South Pacific cyclone set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:South-West Indian Ocean cyclone disambiguation pages to Category:South-West Indian Ocean cyclone set index articles
- Propose renaming Category:Pacific typhoon disambiguation pages to Category:Pacific typhoon set index articles
- Nominator's rationale: All of these categories have "disambiguation pages" in their titles, but every one of the pages contained in these categories uses a "set index article" template, namely {{Storm index}}, not a disambiguation template. The categories should be renamed to accurately reflect what they contain. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 20:12, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
- Comment RussBot filled Category:Pacific typhoon set index articles and Category:Australian region cyclone set index articles with pages and they are currently redirect categories that should be empty. This seems premature considering that this CFD discussion just began. Liz Read! Talk! 21:53, 24 August 2022 (UTC)
- That was done before my bold category renaming was reverted by another user. The bot is in the process of moving them back. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 01:21, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- Comment, some of the pages contain "(disambiguation)" in their name. This might suggest that they were meant to be disambiguation pages after all. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:17, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
- Comment, moreover, many other storm name pages are the redirect target of pages with "(disambiguation)" in their name. Also, most of the pages are, I believe, marked as DAB on their talk page. Drdpw (talk) 12:22, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- Support renaming. Any pages with (disambiguation) should be moved (or swapped) to another title. These are not disambiguation pages and the category name is currently confusing. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 09:42, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
- Comment many of these pages are titled "List of storms named …"; those pages with "(disambiguation)" in their title could could be moved accordingly. Drdpw (talk) 12:27, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
- Note & question, Category:Tropical cyclone disambiguation pages is the parent category for those listed above. If the requested move gets the green light, the parent category ought to be renamed as well, yes? Drdpw (talk) 20:33, 28 August 2022 (UTC)
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Qwerfjkltalk 12:20, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Rename to match the contents. Yes, the parent category should be renamed to. Yes, (disambiguation) page titles should be sorted out somehow. Yes, the entire concept of "set index articles" is a mess. None of these things influence the merits of this CfD. * Pppery * it has begun... 18:14, 1 September 2022 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was: Diffuse to new sub-categories. – Fayenatic London 13:13, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
- Nominator's rationale: Split according to the four statutory regions of the territory. 42.200.55.111 (talk) 08:40, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- With more than 200 articles directly in this category the proposal seems a plausible way of diffusion. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:29, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support only on the condition that the existing category will be retained and kept as a parent category of the new categories and as a direct subcategory under Category:Roads by country so as to preserve the link of the entire roads cats hierarchy. 203.145.94.160 (talk) 03:41, 3 September 2022 (UTC)
- Fair point, it should be diffusing rather than splitting. Marcocapelle (talk) 06:55, 3 September 2022 (UTC)

- Propose renaming Category:Fictional natural features of Earth to Category:Fictional landforms
- Nominator's rationale: rename to align with Category:Landforms. Marcocapelle (talk) 05:07, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support per nomination. –Aidan721 (talk) 12:18, 1 September 2022 (UTC)
- Support Fictional landforms may be not of Earth, and the proposed new title would accomodate that. Daranios (talk) 10:17, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- Split to Category:Fictional landforms and Category:Fictional bodies of water to parallel the real-world structure. The category currently includes a mixture of both. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 16:25, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- Fair enough. It can be implemented as rename as nominated, and manually moving some of the content thereafter. Marcocapelle (talk) 16:38, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
- Would be fine with me. Daranios (talk) 19:20, 2 September 2022 (UTC)

- Propose renaming Category:Gymnastics manoeuvres to Category:Gymnastics elements
- Nominator's rationale: That is what these are called in official gymnastics lingo, see Gymnastics elements named after Simone Biles, Gymnastics elements named after Romanian gymnasts, etc. In addition this category also contains static positions such as planche, bridge (exercise), etc. (I moved them to a new subcategory) which are not maneuvers.
