Fails WP:NFCC#8: book cover in the article about the author. Stefan2 (talk) 01:30, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Nonfree content#Meeting the contextual significance criterion: the item (i.e.: the new book by Dr. Agnieszka Biedrzycka) is itself the subject of sourced commentary in the article: only an image of the front cover art of the object is used, composed predominantly of plain typesetting. Poeticbent talk 03:47, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- This article is about the author, not about the book. The book cover should only be used in the article about the book. See the footnote to WP:NFCI §1. --Stefan2 (talk) 13:45, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- To my knowledge, the covers of most important publications as the infobox lead images in biographies of their authors is a notable exception. This not the only case. Many biographies feature such images in Wikipedia. Poeticbent talk 14:47, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- As stated in the footnote to WP:NFCI §1, "The same rationale does not usually apply when the work is described in other articles, such as articles about the author or musician; in such articles, the NFCC criteria typically require that the cover art itself be significantly discussed within the article." I do not see any discussion about the cover art in the article. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:53, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- The book is definitely highlighted in the copytext of this biography which isn't long to begin with. I suppose, the confusing part in policy is the use of the word "item" because "item" is the book as well as the book cover, two things under the same claim by the publisher. Unlike a music poster, which in many cases is an original piece of art, the book cover is usually not that complex, and the use of plain lettering is borderline GFDL anyhow. Poeticbent talk 15:31, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- As stated in the footnote to WP:NFCI §1, there needs to be significant discussion about the cover art. A short statement in the lead section that she has written this book is not the same thing as significant discussion about the cover art. --Stefan2 (talk) 17:04, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

Per WP:NFCC#8: former logo. Stefan2 (talk) 13:43, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- No need to delete the logo since it is not orphaned and is used per historical reasons as a former logo of the club. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:54, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Per WP:NFCC#8, you can only include the current logo, unless the article contains sourced critical discussion about the other logos. --Stefan2 (talk) 14:10, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Well, in that case I will find some more source on that logo. But you should be aware that there many club articles that have the old logos in their club articles i.e. other Ukrainian Clubs. Is the expected notation supposed to be similar to Real Madrid? BTW the Ukrainian version of the article (uk:Гірник (Кривий Ріг)) also has the emblem and there is not much of a reference in the article.Brudder Andrusha (talk) 13:08, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Fails WP:NFCC#8: not critically discussed. Stefan2 (talk) 17:10, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- It is discussed at length in the article Scottish Labour Party leadership election, 2014, and triggered the leadership election. Not quite sure how much more critical it has to be. This is Paul (talk) 18:30, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
