I think this was converted directly from File:1Q84bookcover.jpg, resulting in a similarly blurry image with a greater filesize. jlwoodwa (talk) 04:15, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Keep and relicense as fair use. If it was converted from File:1Q84bookcover.jpg (which I agree was probably the case), there were definitely other modifications made. The JPEG has ringing artifacts not present in the PNG version, so I'd lean toward using the PNG, although the best option would be a copy from a higher-resolution scan. The planet (?) design in the background does seem copyrightable, so I don't think {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} is a suitable license for either image (and whichever image doesn't get used in the article should be deleted). hinnk (talk) 02:51, 15 September 2024 (UTC)

Per Undeletion request regarding files deleted by Taivo, this logo should be relicensed as (PD-US-1978-89) and move it to Wikimedia Commons similar to main PBS logo, because according to Commons:Deletion requests/Files uploaded by SergioCarino it become free through formalities. See also Commons:Deletion requests/File:PBS 1971 id.svg regarding the older variant of PBS logo, which also resulting in kept. 103.111.100.82 (talk) 11:54, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
