AUB Nature Conservation Center, is an inter-faculty and interdisciplinary center founded in 2002. The center promotes the conservation and the sustainable use of biodiversity for the purpose of enhancing the well-being of people and nature, by providing an open, innovative, and collaborative platform. It operates on three fronts: Education, research, and outreach.[1]
Mission and Vision
The Mission: To promote conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity for the purpose of enhancing well-being of people and nature by providing an open innovative and collaborative platform. Our mission is achieved through research, education, community outreach, and knowledge dissemination.[2]
The Vision: To establish Ibsar as a recognized reference center for the study and sustainable use of dry land biodiversity.[3]
Publications
The center publishes its news, activities, events, and achievements in a biyearly newsletter, which is available in electronic format. Newsletters can be found here. Additionally, the center publishes books and booklets in order to disseminate knowledge to the public on nature and biodiversity in Lebanon.[4]
