Brandon Lavar Flowers (born February 18, 1986 in Delray Beach, Florida) is an American football cornerback in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs. Flowers was drafter by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2008 NFl draft as the thirty-fifth overall pick. He played college football at Virginia Tech.
High school career
Flowers played high school football while attending Atlantic Community High School, where he earned first-team all-area and all-conference honors. He then attended Hargrave Military Academy for prep school in 2003.[1]
College career
Flowers attended at Virginia Tech, where he majored in Sociology. While playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies, he was named an All-American in both his sophomore and junior years. He also led the Atlantic Coast Conference in passes broken up (18) and passes defended (21). Flowers decided to forgo his final year of eligibility to enter the 2008 NFL Draft.[2]
Professional career
Flowers was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round (35th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. Signed his pro contract for four years on July 23, 2008. [3] In the 2008 season, Flowers will play opposite Patrick Surtain, his cousin. [4]
