Gabon Airlines is an airline headquartered in Libreville, Gabon.[1] It started operations in 2007 with services between Libreville and Paris. It concentrates on African and European services.[2]
History
The airline is owned by private investors, banks and insurers.[3]. The CEO of Gabon Airlines is Christian Bongo Ondimba, one of former president Omar Bongo's sons. On 8 November 2006 the Gabonese transport minister granted Gabon Airlines official permission to operate flights in the country. The maiden flight of Gabon airlines took place in 11 April 2007 from Libreville to Paris. Flights to other destinations in South Africa and other central African capitals soon followed.[4]
Ethiopian Airlines is managing personnel and aircraft maintenance of Gabon Airlines.
