The following is a list of events during the year 2022 in Italy.
Economically, the country suffered the impact of a global inflation surge following the COVID-19 pandemic. Politically, in January President Sergio Mattarella was re-elected for a second term, and in February the Italian government responded to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a partner of the Atlantic alliance authorising weapons shipments to Ukraine. The country also experienced a government crisis, with subsequent elections, which brought in office the first female Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni.

- 23 January: in Brescia (Rezzato) there is a terrible accident between a car and a bus 5 young people die.[24]

- following the spread of COVID-19 (omicron variant) the health minister Roberto Speranza has decided to sign an ordinance that puts Piedmont, Sicily and Friuli in the orange zone, while Apulia and Sardinia go yellow.[26]

- 19 February: Protestors mainly consisting of university students and activists protest the Green Pass in Milan.[48]
- 24 February: Prime Minister Mario Draghi and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio condemn Russia following its invasion of Ukraine.[49]
- 27 February: Following the Russia-Ukraine crisis, Mario Draghi announces that Italy aligns itself with the harsh sanctions of the European Union against Russia.[50]
- The Italian government closes its airspace to Russian planes.[51]
- 28 February: The first Ukrainian refugees arrive in Italy mostly direct by bus to Trieste, Milan, Rome and Naples.[52]
