Anti-Franchise League

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Woman's Anti-Franchise League was an Australian organisation opposed to women's suffrage.[1]

The Anti-Franchise League was co-founded in 1900 by Carrie Reid, daughter of Robert Reid, who was known to oppose the reform of women's suffrage, which was debated in Australia at the time.[citation needed] The League proved to be short lived. Australia introduced women's suffrage in 1901.
