Jedox is a global software company specializing in enterprise performance management (EPM) solutions. Founded in 2002 by Kristian Raue in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, the company focuses on providing adaptable planning, analytics, and reporting tools for various business functions—including Finance, Sales, Human Resources, and Operations.[1] Its solutions help organizations optimize financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and integrate business-wide strategic planning processes.[2]
The core offering of Jedox is its EPM platform, which integrates planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement into a single source of truth.[3] This platform is designed to streamline financial and operational processes, enabling organizations to make data-driven decisions. Key features include an in-memory OLAP database, Excel-friendly user interfaces, web-based dashboards, and self-service data integration capabilities.[4] By bridging financial and operational planning, the platform supports integrated business planning (IBP), ensuring alignment across departments.[5]
Jedox serves a diverse global clientele, with over 2,900 organizations across more than 140 countries utilizing its solutions. The platform's adaptability and user-friendly design have contributed to its widespread adoption among businesses seeking efficient planning and performance management tools.
The company's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction has been recognized in industry evaluations. Notably, Jedox was named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software.[6] Additionally, it achieved the top ranking for Flexibility Value in the Global Peer Group within the 2024 BARC Planning Survey.[7]
Company history
[edit]Jedox was founded in 2002 by Kristian Raue in Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, with the aim of simplifying planning, analysis, and reporting processes for businesses.[8] In 2008, Jedox transitioned into a stock corporation and secured its first funding round, raising approximately $5.44 million in a Series A round led by eCAPITAL.[9]
In 2014, Jedox acquired Reboard, a German software company specializing in mobile analytics and reporting.[10] The following year, in July 2015, Jedox expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region by acquiring Naked Data, an Australian software company, leading to new offices in Singapore, Sydney, and Melbourne.[11]
In 2017, Deloitte recognized Jedox with the "Technology Fast 50" Star award, highlighting the company’s rapid growth in the technology sector.[12] The following year, Florian Winterstein was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jedox, bringing new leadership to the company.[13]
The company continued to attract investment to support its growth. In April 2018, Jedox raised $24.6 million in a Series B funding round with participation from eCAPITAL and IRIS.[14] Subsequently, in January 2021, Jedox secured over $100 million in a Series C round led by Insight Partners, with participation from existing investors IRIS, eCAPITAL, and Wecken & Cie.[15]
Jedox was named a Leader in the 2023 and 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Financial Planning Software and recognized in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Financial Consolidation and Close.[16] Additionally, the company was ranked #1 for Flexibility Value in the Global Peer Group within the 2024 BARC Planning Survey.[17] Also in 2024, the company launched JedoxAI, an artificial intelligence-powered feature aimed at enhancing business planning and analytics through natural language interaction.[18]
These strategic milestones have contributed to Jedox’s expansion into new markets and the strengthening of its position in the enterprise performance management industry.
