Salama Mohammad Salama
Salama Mohammad Salama (Arabic: سلامة محمد سلامة), known locally as Abu Hamza,[1] is a Syrian former intelligence officer for the Bashar al-Assad government. In December 2024, he was featured in a recorded rescue and interview, in which Clarissa Ward of CNN discovered him under a blanket in a locked Damascus prison cell.[2][3]
During the interview, he claimed to be a civilian named Adel Gharbal from Homs who was detained three months prior.[1]
