What is the "Ghost-Zone"?

On TV Tome's Danny Phantom Forum - the "Ghost-Zone" is described as a Limbo or Purgatory between life & death - quote: "According to parapsychology, the world of the dead is a whole different dimension than the world of the living, the portal may be the passageway between the two dimensions, the dead enter the world of the living through it and the alive enter the world of the dead through it."

If you have seen the movie Ghostbusters II; you will observe a pink "Mood Slime" or Psyco-Reactive Plasm, that bubbled & replicated when exposed to certain activity, namely positive or negative human emotional states - felt or expressed (words - insultive or of encouragement, song & music), the enpowered Mood Slime/Psyco-Reactive Plasm had useful properties, making ghosts appear, warping solid objects (Dana's bathtub), and even emotionally affecting people covered in it (Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Winston Zeddemore & Dr. Janosz Poha); and it was this Mood Slime/Psyco-Reactive Plasm that was giving the bad guy - Vigo the Carpathian, Vigo the Unholy etc, his power, & with all of New Yorks bad vibes negatively empowering the Mood Slime/Psyco-Reactive Plasm, Vigo had a lot of evil power.

I think that the "Ghost-Zone" in the Danny Phantom Universe, is a Dimension that co-exists with our own, like the Astral Plane co-exists with our own Dimension like it does in the Marvel Universe.

I think that the "Ghost-Zone" in the Danny Phantom Universe is full of Ectoplasm that behaves like the Mood-Slime/Psyco-Reactive Plasm, and with the "Ghost-Zone" co-existing with our own world, it is influenced by human emotional human states; when a person dies, they can be caught in the Ectoplasm in the Ghost-Zone - becoming a ghost of their former-selves & can even have an array of Ghost-Grade Powers, as ghosts are made of Ectoplasm.

I figure that the "Fenton Portal" works by creating a warp in time & space between Danny's dimension & the "Ghost-Zone". When Danny Fenton triggered to Fenton Portal to work, while standing inside the portal, he too was warped, and his body was fused on the molecular level with Ectoplasm/Mood Slime/Psyco-Reactive Plasm, that reacts to his teenage emotions, and turning him into a Human/Ghost molecular Hybrid, with his own array of developing Ghost-Grade Powers.

Once again: you have some interesting theories.
But please keep them away from the main article. They are still Original Research. They're theories, nothing more, as evidenced by the number of phrases like "I figure" and "I think" that you used in describing it.
The only remotely verifiable facts about the Ghost Zone in Danny Phantom are: that it seems to be primarily green in color; that it is a seperate dimension from the "regular" world, and has different laws of physics (as evidenced by the discovery that humans that aren't ghosts can travel through matter in the Ghost Zone, and the fact that things float around in it); that it's a likely reference to the Superman series, in which another term for the Phantom (ahem) Zone, an alternate dimension, is the Ghost Zone (there are a number of other superhero references and possibly references in the show, including Danny's costume, which bears striking simularities to one version of the Fantastic Four's costumes). However, even then, one shouldn't take it is or isn't a reference; it's just likely it might be one.

It's like the movie Beetle Juice where the dead go and turn into a form that suits it personality the most.

Episode Titles

If someone is adding an episode title, please make sure it is accurate. Someone put a title of "Time Revenge" under Season Two, and I know for a fact that it is inaccurate. I or possibly someone else will put the real titles up once I make sure it's ok with the people I got them from.

So, dear person who placed the title and airdate: Check your facts next time.

This goes for everyone, actually.

(I'd also like to apologise in advance for any mistakes I may make/may have already made. I'm new to this. I think I already made one... I read the faux pas page while writing this and realized that I didn't see an "edit summary" when I deleted the false title... Whoops...

Show title and character names in other languages, separate articles on characters

There should be info on the character names in other languages, plus more seperate articles on the characters. --User:Angie Y.

The future shown in The Ultimate Enemy is only a POSSIBLE future

DONT YOU PEOPLE HAVE ANY GRASP OF ALTERNATE TIMELINES?

Characters like Skultech and Box Lunch only MIGHT exist, they do not exist currently that we know of and they may never exist due to changes in the timeline.

So stop removing notes like "possible" or "in the alternate future", the events of TUE are not set in stone. Jack Cain 00:23, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

I should think that "in the alternate future" would cover it, really, even if it is a bit awkward compared to "Ultimate Enemy Timeline" or somesuch. Because it IS an alternate future. It probably still exists in some alternate universe or something - whatever the case, it's an alternate (read: not the one the characters are actually living in) timeline either way. I can see why "possible" would irk you, but "in the alternate future" seems like a perfectly logical turn of phrase when speaking of events or characters than only occur in the Ultimate Enemy future-that-ended-up-not-happening-to-the-specific-set-of-characters-we're-still-watching. Runa27 06:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I agree. This happens on The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. Those events are non-canon, and are not related to the continuity of the show. Pacific Coast Highway 20:03, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

That's a bad example. The Simpsons is already a frequent self-bender when it comes to canon, with many seemingly important events happening and then being simply glossed over or ignored in every single episode after that (Skinner's real identity, anyone?). This is mostly because it's almost exclusively an episodic parody series. Very few things carry over into the next episode in cases where it isn't a rare two-parter (like the "Who shot Mr. Burns" episode). Also, saying "the Treehouse of Horror episode of the Simpsons isn't canon, therefore, it doesn't matter what happened in the Ultimate Enemy episode's vision of the not-so-nice future" is ridiculous. The two series have completely different approaches, as do the two episodes in question. The Simpsons is pure, unadulterated, episodic parody and nothing more (not to say it's bad parody, but it is pure parody); its canon is, additionally, extraordinarily loose and often self-contradicting or just plain happy-to-ignore-past-eventsing. Danny Phantom is a kids' superhero show that, while seemingly episodic at points, still has a very set continuity that carries from one episode to the next; the kids recognize ghosts they've fought before, Danny uses gadgets and powers ONLY when they've either been introduced in that episode or previously introduced, etc. They're a bit different. Not to mention, The Ultimate Enemy was a scary look at a dark future-that-could-have-been (but nonetheless still kind of a normal episode, just extra-long is all); nonetheless, it still fits directly in with continuity of the series, since Dark Danny still exists, Clockwork is used in another later episode, etc. - in short, it's still wholy canon, even if the future has been completely altered from what it would have ended up as in the Ultimate Enemy's version of it. The Simpsons "Treehouse of Horror" episodes are merely Halloween-themed episodes full of skits that usually completely contradict what little canon the Simpsons even HAS, and have no bearing on other, later episodes. They are NOT comparable. Now, if Danny Phantom were to have an episode where the gang addresses the viewers and tells stories in a manner similar to the Treehouse of Horror episodes, THEN there would be a truly comparable episode. Otherwise, no. Not really. Runa27 06:10, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

(posted by an anonymous user): Why does Dark Danny still exist?

Dark Danny exists outside of time. If I remember correctly, Danny Phantom captures Dark Danny in the Fenton Thermos, which somehow gets to Clockwork. Clockwork lives outside of time, and so when he brought the Fenton Thermos (with Dark Danny in it) back to his home, he therefore brought Dark Danny outside of time. Therefore, Dark Danny still exists. If you saw the last moments of The Ultimate Enemy, you hear Clockwork/one of the Observants (forget which) say that Dark Danny now exists out of time and is Clockwork's responsibility. -Rose C.

I've just recently removed a few links from the External Links section and am anticipating some resistance. So, I've decided to pre-empt the arguments by providing the argument for removing the links.

Wikipedia is a source for information not a fansite advertising service. True, fansites can provide information on the series itself, but with non-fansite website such as TV.com and IMBD available, they are unnecessary. There was also the second reason: it seemed to me that they were put there as a cynical attempt to increase visitor traffic to said fansites.

Now as for the removal of the forums, including those of Butch Hartman's forums. These are not places of information. They are places filled with speculation. Even Butch Hartman's forums do not contain any real information, and because of the active pruning and deleting of old topics, any real information that used to be on the forums, will eventually disappear.

I especially removed the links to forums where no one seemed to have posted. Those were obvious advertisement attempts.

Nuff' said.

Wolf ODonnell 14:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree on most points you've raised, but would argue for keeping the Butch Hartman forums. They may not be a good source of information that will stay in place, but they are still the creator's OFFICIAL forums, right? It's not a fansite, it's an official site. I vote for putting that link back in. Runa27 06:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
I second Runa27's motion. Mostly because Hartman himself does frequent that forum and that is basically where he made his official cancellation announcement. The info may not be bumped all the time but it is still accessable.Nadiasama 22:38, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

When did these comments get here? Anyway, Mr. Hartman himself doesn't really frequent the forums much except to tell fans when his new episodes will air. You're better off linking to Hartman's own site than the forums themselves. At least his site has original DP theme, revised DP theme, full Ember's theme etc. etc. Wolf ODonnell 15:48, 8 June 2006 (UTC)

What is the show about? You're throwing me a bunch of names without any context whatsoever. And the theme song lyrics are violating copyright. ' (Feeling chatty? ) (Edits!) 23:58, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Lyrics can't really be copyrighted, can they?71.99.124.115 03:31, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Sure they can. That's why in fiction books that quote lyrics from famous songs, they have to cite it properly and get permission or something like that. Wolf ODonnell 11:45, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

Clean Up Required

This wikipedia article contains very little information for the person who knows next to nothing about Danny Phantom. I've added a "Premise" section, but I doubt that that is enough to make this article worthy of being on Wikipedia, let alone featured.

There is also superfluous information in the form of an insanely long cast list. Most shows feature the names of only the main characters. A discussion is needed to figure out what names to cut from the cast list.

More information relating to the show must be included, preferably from some of the other Danny Phantom articles. Such information must be brief and informative. Discussion must be done in order to determine what information to bring to this article and therefore what articles to destroy. Wolf ODonnell 11:54, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, the thing with DP is there are a LOT of side characters, and many episodes are semi-episodic, with a different villain for each episode (but these villains are almost always reused numerous time). However, in order to clean up this page, how about starting a Voice Cast In Danny Phantom page that covers all the commonly recurring roles (the trio, Danny's family, Mr. Lancer, reoccurring villains, etc.)? That would shorten this page considerably but still enable easy access to the information.
I've also made efforts (as has an anon user or two) to streamline and better describe the show. Hopefully, it's been significantly improved from a few months ago! Runa27 06:38, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

That's great to hear! Personally, I included the small character list so people could get a general jist of the main players. It may be a good idea to move the episode list to its own article and give each entry a brief description of what happens. A good idea would be also to include airing dates of each episode for the other countries in which DP airs (just a general sampling, like say, UK, Australia and France or something along those lines).

P.S. Has anyone found out the reason for the long hiatus between the Episode, 13 and the other episodes? Wolf ODonnell 15:48, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Dani Phantom

i only remember one episode with her in it, but it seemed like she would return in a later episode, does she? and also whats her actual full name? i chose Dani Phantom to title this with because it seems that she would be called that in her ghost form, but what about her non-ghost form? is she Dani Fenton or Dani Masters? and if in her non-ghost form she is Dani Masters, wouldnt she be Dani Plasmius in her ghost form then? felinoel 01:50, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

proby still Danni Fenton,as she is Danny's clone. Or maybe she'll get adopted, and take their last name. ('cause she kinda' she just flys off at the end.)

Actually, it would be Fenton since she is Danny's clone. To be alittle off topic, by the end I think she would be "adopted" by the Fentons and live as Danny's sidekick.Markcambrone 15:57, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Maybe she has no last name. Pacific Coast Highway {blahHappy Halloween!WP:NYCS} 16:14, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

I'd say Danielle most likely has no last name. Perhaps she was Danielle Masters at one point, but now that she's run away from Vlad she most likely would want nothing to do with that last name. ~Skye-chan 18:54, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

all valid points, but as for her being a clone of danny, just because she has danny's genes doesnt mean she has the same last name, my mother and her brother doesnt have the same last name yet they carry same genes. as for her getting adopted by the fentons, she hasnt yet so it cant be fenton because she might get adopted by the fentons eventually. as for no last name, this seems like the simplest solution, but like how danny shouts his full name, dani wouldnt be able to and so it seems like a let down. as for her being dani masters at one point but she left vlad and so her last name isnt masters anymore, i left my parents and i still have the same last name, so this idea doesnt really make sense -_-' felinoel 21:07, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

GHOSTS: Humans vs creatures/non-humans

I've notice that there are three main colors for the "ghosts" on the show: Green, Blue/White and Black and that those that are Blu/White are more likely to have been human while the Green ones are usually creatures with ghost powers. I'm not sure if this is a hard and fast rule or if it falls a part, but could somebody check on it? If it works out, it should be added into the article. 66.217.130.180 21:23, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Dan Phantom or Dark Danny?

Many of us refer it as Dark Danny, but in the video game Danny Phantom: The Ultimate Enemy, the characters refer to it as Dan Phatom. But then, what's his real name?

I think what it's Dan Phantom, because it was shown as a solid name; meanwhile Dark Danny is only a shape to refer to it as simply an evil version of Danny Phantom.ComicSansGirl 03:48, 27 August 2006 (UTC)ComicSansGirlComicSansGirl 03:48, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

The production credits say otherwise. Pacific Coast Highway {blahI'm a hot toe pickerWP:NYCS} 04:05, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Well, in the game Butch Hartman names him. And whatever Hartman says, goes.

That's great. I'm sure he "named" him in the porduction credits as well. And once again, the name "Dan" was used in The Fright Before Christmas to refer to Danny's human persona. So there. Pacific Coast Highway {blahSpinach crisis '06!WP:NYCS} 21:54, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

I've seen the episode, and not once had "Dark Danny" ever introduced himself by name, so maybe it's something else entirely. Maetch 15:52, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

The video game refers to him as "Dan Phantom", however the credits for the episode refer to him as "Dark Danny". Butch Hartman also refers to the character as Dark Danny on his forum, so I think we should go with "Dark Danny" on every page except the video game page. ~Skye-chan 17:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Still confused, but i'm sora agree w/you,Skye-chan.But,i've visited many fan deviations in deviantart.com(My username there is kittyXartist)and most of the fangirls refers to him as Dan PHantom. But,anything what Hartman tells,goes..but...i'm still confused!SharkGirlX 02:30, 24 November 2006 (UTC)ComicSansGirl

well dan seems like a darker name while danny is a lighter, more loose, and happy name, so yes i would believe he would be called dan phantom

In the episode itself, any actual name for Danny's "Jerky Future Self" was never truly stated. I'm under the impression that his real name is unknown. Only Butch himself knows, and he's not telling, only using placeholder names like "Dark Danny" or "Dan Phantom". Maetch 17:59, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, future Valerie calls him just plain "Phantom", so he does have a name in dialogue. BabySinclair 21:09, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

In the episodes, Future Danny is only referred to as "Dark Danny" and "Phantom". Future Danny is called "Dan Phantom" in the video game The Ultimate Enemy. This is fact. I will add a guess that Danny is only called "Dan" in The Fright Before Christmas for rhyming reasons. So, what should Future Danny's official name be? I say go with Dark Danny. That's the most official name, seeing as it was in the production credits. Dan Phantom was coined by fans, and even though it was used in the video game, it isn't canon. Video game producers tend to get things wrong - if you've ever read the Harry Potter books, seen the movies, and played the video games, they're all VERY different. This also goes for video games based on other movies. They tend to be wrong sometimes. So, I think Dark Danny is the most official name we're gonna get, as of now. Notability of other Danny Phantom characters- merger?

Recently many of the Danny Phantom characters were placed on articles for deletion (they were all kept). However, many of the people commenting on their deletion said that some of the minor characters should be merged to List of Danny Phantom characters and List of Danny Phantom villains and ghosts, a move I personally agree with. The reason that I'd suggest merging is that small articles for every character on a show are tougher to watch, and when redirecting users to a list of all characters, it gives them the opportunity to read up on many characters as opposed to one. See also List of SpongeBob SquarePants characters, where the main characters receive articles of their own, but minor characters are kept on one page together.

Below are the articles I think should be merged:

Other things: Amity Park is a short article; I'd suggest merging it with Danny Phantom. Opinions? Ral315 (talk) 18:03, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Not only can these be merged, but some of the human characters can be merged too. The only ones that I don't agree should be touched as concerning merging or deleting is concerned are characters that a major on the show, characters that make a appearance every episode, they are notable enough for thier own article. — Moe 18:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I voted to delete all as unnoteable last time round, but I think merging would be a better course of action. Thus, my vote - Merge. Blood red sandman 18:28, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
Yep, definitely support the merger. Humorously, I was replying to this when your AWB notice hit my talk page. --tjstrf 18:32, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I am not a watcher of this show, so I don't know who are major characters and who are minor (except for the main character). Like I said in the AfD though, I do suggest a merger of the minor characters into one article. TJ Spyke 19:00, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
  • I agree with the list of characters above for them to be merged, but I'm not so sure on Skulker and Technus, seeing as they're a couple of the ghost villains that appears quite frequently, most of the times in main villain roles. Just saying. I won't complain if those two are merged alongside as well though. Neo Yi
  • Support Merge Something needs to be done. At least this is a constructive approach. Pacific Coast Highway {blahHappy Halloween!WP:NYCS} 20:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
  • MERGE SOME I personally agree with Neo Yi. While most of those articles should be merged, I feel Technus and Skulker are, quote-unquote, major enough to have their own articles. User:Amras Felagund 19 October 2006
  • Dont's Merge all Maybe keep Major villains and recurring villains seperate, Pariah Dark is a major villain, Box Ghost Technus Skulker Ember and Linch Lady are recurring. Prince Aragon I think would be merged into the List of Danny Phantom Ghosts and Villains section. Clockwork? Good heavens no! Maybe we should just leave them as they are... I say these things because I am a die hard DP fan Markcambrone 21:20, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

First of all, I was the one who created the Amity Park page. I did it because of the fact that Kim Possible's hometown of Middleton had its own page, so I figured "What the heck?" If it's all the same to you, feel free to Merge it.

As for characters, here's my suggestions. Major recurring characters should stick to their own pages, as they have made the most impact on the show

  • Skulker (recurring enemy)
  • Technus (see above)
  • Clockwork (mysterious but well-meaning "ally")
  • Ember (somewhat sparked a hint of romance between Danny and Sam)
  • Spectra (because of her, Danny gained an ally in Jazz)

Everyone else who hasn't made much of an impact on the series should be merged, such as one-episode characters and general annoyances.Maetch 00:15, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Distributed by Nelvana International?

There is nothing to prove or refute that Nelvana distributes "Danny Phantom" overseas, although I haven't found anything about it at Nelvana's site. However, they have listed "The Fairly Oddparents" on that site, and Nelvana DOES distribute that show overseas. "The Fairly Oddparents" and "Danny Phantom" were both created by Butch Hartman, although Fred Siebert is the producer of just "The Fairly Oddparents", and has nothing to do with "Danny Phantom". I'm guessing whoever posted the Nelvana tidbit might have assumed it because of their ownership of "The Fairly Oddparents" internationally. Either that, or I haven't heard of this fact and I'm assuming that it's false (I live in the United States, where both Butch Hartman's cartoons not only air on Nickelodeon, but are actually owned by Viacom as Nicktoons).

No place for a picket line

Where do we put the little fan protest? Can someone with better linky abilities than I move that stuff around so it sits down at the bottom, with maybe a link from the top pointing to it?

Goths

(Samantha Manson is) "...a frequent protester for such things as animal rights, and a self-proclaimed Goth"

What's a "self-proclaimed Goth"? As opposed to an official Goth? As far as I knew to be a Goth you just had to dress funny and speak about hopelessness and depression and that kind of thing, I didn't know you had to sign up to some Goth Institution and get a Goth diploma.--200.48.20.67 13:09, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

A self proclaimed -anything- would be someone who claims to be of something but doesn't follow the standard tenets. She is is a self-proclaimed goth because besides dressing like one you'd never be able to tell otherwise since she doesn't tend to act like a stereotypical one. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.19.29.65 (talk) 19:44, 8 September 2007 (UTC)

Goths do not talk about hopelessness or depression, Im goth(or I think that) and my friends are goths too and we do not talk about depresion or hopelessness, who talk about that are the emo.Al most forget it:"Sam is kinda punk for me"

Goth isn't something you can choose or aspire to be. Goth is a label for how you are perceived by others for dressing and behaving in certain styles and manners. Sam is a self-proclaimed goth because she calls herself a goth.

Danny Phantom and Timmy Turner?

I've removed the section about a so-called crossover between DP and FOP. I can't find any evidence of it. If anyone can prove it right, of course, it should be put back in (after a bit of cleanup, of course. Gawd.). Here it is, in its original form before removal:

In June 2007 Danny Phantom will have a direct-to-video crossover movie called "Fairly OffHaunting:A Fairlyodd Ghost story." When vicky Gains control of Dannys Powers (by threaning him with the termos) she somehow ends up in fairy world and uses Danny to become Ruler of Fairy world. It's up to Timmy, Cosmo, And Wanda to save Danny, and Fairy World. It is rumored in this film that timmy accidentaly wishes Sam was a fairy, and there is know wat to turn her back.

I agree. There used to be a section about the cancellation and fan response to it. Then in February when the show was supposed to end, it disappeared. Now there's a new version that seems to be written in vaguely broken English. Shouldn't the old one be brought back and simply brought up to present tense ("Regardless, the show ceased production in February 2007")?

every single cartoon will be cancelled (even the simspon) and danny phantom is not the exeption, so "FANS" start cry cuz they will not produce more episodes. Butch mae be is borred about danny phantom so he would cancell it.(am not trying to be annoying with the readers, am just giving an opinion.

When I went to nicktoons the representative told me that Danny Phantom ceased production, so it's on "hiatus". It doesn't help much because the show batman beyond 's been on hiatus since 2002. (slifertheskydragon 01:55, 01 February 2008 (UTC))

Info from Phantom Planet

I just restored and added more info from the special Phantom Planet, which has aired in the UK. I see no reason it was taken out.BabySinclair 18:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Final theme song still resembles Queen's The Invisible Man

I don't know about you guys out there and I never heard the original, scrapped theme song, but imho the final theme song of DP still distinctly resembles "The Invisible Man", especially the whispering in the beginning and the bass beats all throughout the song. --gLes 07:18, 4 May 2007 (UTC)

Now that I've read the Butch Hartman interview I'm sure of what I meant above. One of these days I'll get around to rephrase that ominous sentence, but feel free to do it yourselves :) gLes 23:14, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

Changes to last-aired date

All right, I'm as sad to see Danny Phantom go as any fan. However, changing the air date of the last episode to "TBA 2007" (or similar edits) isn't going to change anything. To anyone who's been doing this, please stop unless you have a reliable source that can confirm these kinds of statements. Tozoku 00:15, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

Something really should be done about this, cause it seems that they don't want to leave it the way it was. I mean I suppose they don't read this forum, perhaps you could insert some comment on this warning people not to meddle with that field. (I'm still not enough familiar with the markup around here and don't want to screw it myself) gLes 16:29, 10 May 2007 (UTC)

Butch announced on his board that the rest of the 3rd season is scheduled to air in the US in June 2007. Thus, it is an accurate assumption the finale will air at a date to be announced in 2007.BabySinclair 03:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

In my interpretation last_aired is a reference to the past. TBA announced is a reference to the future. Either this or we can say that it's Present since the Original run hasn't ended yet (in the US), even though we know there will be no more episodes from sometime this year. I say we leave it the way it is and wait for the last episodes to be aired. I'm in no hurry, are you? gLes 21:57, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

I changed it back to TBA 2007, and I have a source. Zcat6, mod on Butch's official forums, and the Danny Phantom Online Forums: "Okay gang, I know we haven't seen ads nor anything else about when the new Season 3 Danny eps are going to air, and, true to Nick's form, they've changed the premiere date once again.

Mr. Hartman has just informed me today (and okayed for release) the following:

New Danny episodes are now scheduled to premiere on Nick:USA starting Monday, July 23rd. Yes, that's 2007. Er, I hope anyway!

Of interest with this date, it is also: 1. David Kaufman's birthday (voice of Danny) 2. Date of the NYC SAVE DANNY Rally II, The Electric Boogaloo.

This is gonna be fun in New York. Just like we have had those online chats with new eppies, now we can have an in-person one in the hotel rooms. Somebody bring lots of popcorn!

Enjoy, gang, and remember to thank Mr. Hartman for taking time out of his busy schedule to keep us fans up to date." These are the episodes that have aired outside of the US already. BabySinclair 12:30, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Is it cancelled or not?

I just heard that there were new episodes coming out and the article says the show is cancelled but 5 more episodes will be made...is it still canceled or what? It seems rather ambiguous. 141.157.82.82 23:03, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Nickelodeon is no longer making new episodes. However, it will air the ones that it had already made. The current revision of the article seems to make this clear now. --DarkAdonis255 18:45, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
At least they didn't wait as long as they did for the last few Invader Zim episodes, eh?

The Date of Danny Phantom

I have not seen any indication of the date which the series takes place on here, so either I haven't found it yet, or it isn't here. Regardless, I was watching the episode "Secret Weapons," and Jazz pulled out Vlad's college yearbook. The year read "1981" on the spine. And as we all know, the events of Danny Phantom happen 20 years after Vlad's accident. Now, one may think that simply adding 20 years and proclaiming "Oh, the series takes place in 2001!" But we need to cover all of our bases. We do not know what year of college Vlad was in when the accident occurred, in conjunction of what year he got his college yearbook in. Though, as he would be out of college with Ecto-Acne, and that was a picture of his face undamaged, I would assume that the yearbook he got was the year of his accident. Therefore the series takes place in the year 2001. Any other thoughts? 72.234.23.110 05:15, 14 July 2007 (UTC) Re- It's a childrens cartoon!, it doesn't have to have a clear date or a strict sence, IT IS JUST FOR CHILDREN, or maeby It's just a mistake

Sorry but I don't think so. It could be a children's cartoon, nevertheless it could be very vell thought and organized. so, why are we talking about it? Are we all under 10 years old?

Chicken

Somebody might want to fix this: The phrase "He is a chicken" keeps appearing over and over in the "Plot" section.

And just to be an enraged fangirl: Danny ain't no chicken. He's, despite being somewhat immature, one of the bravest fictional characters I've ever seen. So there. :P

A source that could be used: Jerry Beck's Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons!

I found a book in the bookstore called Not Just Cartoons: Nicktoons! by Jerry Beck. I'm not going to buy it and join the project, but I will ask the other members to get the book so that they can add real world information about various fictional characters.

This makes the creation of separate articles for *many* fictional characters feasible. Having information about the development of the character will make the articles satisfy Wikipedia:Notability (fiction)

WhisperToMe (talk) 21:02, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

  • I actually have that book, but really, there isn't that much information from that book about this show that isn't already in the general information in DP's main page (most of what Hartman said in that book he already stated in that interview which is linked at the bottom of the main page of DP). Centralized TV Episode Discussion

Over the past months, TV episodes have been redirected by (to name a couple) TTN, Eusebeus and others. No centralized discussion has taken place, so I'm asking everyone who has been involved in this issue to voice their opinions here in this centralized spot, be they pro or anti. Discussion is here [1]. Even if you have not, other opinions are needed because this issue is affecting all TV episodes in Wikipedia. --Maniwar (talk) 23:23, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Voice actor

I must be going insane, but I could swear Danny's voice actor wasn't called Jason Griffith. The same is written in Danny Fenton's character page. 189.192.186.59 (talk) 02:22, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

It's David Kaufman you can see his name credited after every episode in the credits.

Yeah... As far as I know, it was always David Kaufman. In fact, the DP online forum, which is connected with the creator of the show, recently did a tribute project for Dave, and Jason Griffith was never mentioned.--199.94.76.172 (talk) 01:20, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, whoever keeps adding Jason Griffith, STOP. you probably love shadow the hedgehog's voice, but Jason never voiced Danny. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.120.169.200 (talk) 08:33, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Japanese Voice Actors

Yeah... I want to know, whoever keeps posting this, Where's your source? I'm not seeing anything on nickjapan or other japanese video sites that even remotely hints that Danny Phantom is being aired in Japan. I think until a concrete source is found, that section needs to be removed. However, if those who know the dubbers of Danny Phantom in other countries want to contribute the voice actor list, they should definetley do so. (slifertheskydragon 02:00 01 February, 2008 (UTC))

  • Agreed on the Japanese voice acting because as far as I know, there is no Japanese dubbed DP yet (and I like to think I keep up with my DP news fairly well). I don't agree on posting up other countries' dubbed voices though because we're talking several lists then. It'll clutter up the front page and would be rather unnecessary in the long run. Neo Yi (talk) 00:36, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Banned Episodes

HEy, someone keeps adding a section in the episodes section that there are banned episodes of DP, such as danny refighting Dark Danny, can someone please help keep an eye out for them to deleteOnepiece226 (talk) 19:20, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Onepiece226

Well, I've heard this: Phantom Planet was finished months before they halted production on DP, and originally there were more episodes listed for this season, at least if you lookup history on DP episodes. I mean they were there until Nick announced they halted production; it's gotta mean something. Unfortunately, I need sources for most of this stuff. I don't know if they'll air or if they've even been completed, or even if they've been started. Sabre Knight (talk) 21:21, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Protection

I've looked through the history of this article, there are some really asinine edits in there. Created by Tim Burton for BET? Bruce Campbell assisted with the character designs? Starring Robin Williams, Sarah Silverman, Michael Jackson and Buddha? There were 100 seasons? The Talk page also suggests further abuse that I haven't looked into.

The article reads like an Uncyclopedia article. Funny, but not that useful. I think this article should be given permanent semi-protection status.

Danny Phantom resuming production

Until a credible source is found and linked, please do not post about this. The show is considered on "Hiatus" due to the fact that all the production stuff is still at Nickelodeon Studios, just all the workers are gone. I went to the studios and asked a represenative about this. Slifertheskydragon

As far as I've seen, the NickToos Network has announced, on several occasions (mostly during a show's ending credits), Danny Phantom with "new powers, new villians, and new adventures" to which has never been seen as well as the animation to back it up. Hey People, i was looking around on the Internet, and roumrs were on the internet and on Disturbed's Wikipage/Music Videos are going around saying that Danny Fenton is going to be in Disturbed's Next Video Titled: "The Night"?????

I looked for Information on the web, but nothing, so i contact Disturbed's Lead Singer David Dramian if any of this information was ture or not and Said: "No Not Really, Why would a Fictional Person would be in our video, Heck no one never even mentioned it to me, but if it was Danny Phantom's Danny Fenton, since it was roumred, I would like Danny Fenton to be on the video, but Disturbed doesn't want that now, but i would look forward to it, if it was ture, but Sadly it's not ture, thanks for telling me this.

you heard it right there David would been told, so whoever is telling the roumr on the internet or on here, will be in huge Toruble. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheDarkLordWesley221 (talkcontribs) 22:57, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
