The article on "GDP of Kolkata" has many errors, substantial misleading information and most of the data on GDP estimation has been corrupted for nefarious purposes. For example, in the article, at one point Kolkata's GDP is claimed to be $250Bn while in the very next paragraph, it is claimed to reach $190Bn by 2020. The GSDP of West Bengal is just over $190Bn (as mentioned in "Economy of West Bengal" on Wikipedia). Then how can a city's GDP be more than its parent State? Hence, I would request a manual verification of this article and the correction of information stated in the article. KMSeyam (talk) 13:13, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please request a specific edit, for example if you did a manual verification, found errors and provided updated text with sources. Thanks. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 12:48, 23 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Include recognised companies names headquartered in kolkata

[edit]

Include names of recognised companies who have their corporate and registered offices in Kolkata. One of which is missing is Linde India which is a major industrial gas production and supply company. Linde is originally a German company and its Indian sub part is based in Kolkata Taratala region. Avik 2803 (talk) 14:29, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

GDP ranking inaccurate according to cited reference

[edit]

Incorrect ranking in introduction:
The second sentence should read "Kolkata is the third largest economy in India after Mumbai and Delhi. " instead of "Kolkata is the fifth largest economy in India after Mumbai,Delhi Bangalore and Chennai." The report cited for the GDP (PPP) of Kolkata puts the GDP at $60.447 billion, which is ahead of Chennai ($58.625 billion) and Bangalore ($45.313 billion)[1].
