Add to the "In popular Culture" section: Rasputin (1996), an HBO biographical drama starring Alan Rickman as Grigori Rasputin, Ian McKellen as Tsar Nicholas II, and Greta Scacchi as Tsarina Alexandra. Rickman won Primetime Emmy Award, Screen Actors Guild Award, Golden Globe USA award, and Satellite Award for best actor in his role as Rasputin. 158.61.0.90 (talk) 12:00, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A 1993 opinion piece in The New York Times states "When Rasputin moved to St. Petersburg he attempted to modify his name to Rasputin-Novykh (Rasputin-Newman). This proved unsuccessful." The link given in the request dates this attempted change to 1906. This could be mentioned somewhere in the article but it should not be stated as his name in the lead sentence and infobox. —David Eppstein (talk) 18:43, 22 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Image of dead Rasputin

[edit]

The image is important in regards to the historic context. However had, the current text description is this:

"Rasputin's corpse on the ground with a bullet wound visible in his forehead"

But the main article writes that he was dumped into a river, and water should usually wash away blood on the outside, so I think this image must be before the river? Either way, rather than visitors speculating, could someone please update the description of the image, stating WHEN that image was taken and by whom? Right now this is not clear to visitors of the page here. 2A02:8388:1643:D680:7C20:EEFA:982E:22B7 (talk) 09:49, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
