[edit]Some fact-checking is needed here. I corrected the statement that Jiri was in the Khumbu (not even close). I also find it hard to believe that Hillary started his trek in Jiri as the road didn't even reach Jiri in 1980, so I changed it to "passed through". --anon 04:06, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
The road was finnished in -85. Hunt's expedition in -53 started walking from the Kathmadu valley, the road ended at the eastern edge of the valley, only about 20 km from the city. This can anybody read from the books about the expedition by Hunt, Hillary etc.
