Some progress now, slight worry about overlap with entries for individual stadia/sports venues...but generally the other entries do not talk too much about the maintenance of the pitch/surface or about the issues involved.

One addition to tthe cricket section would be the use of portable pitches. This is common in New Zealand in dual-use stadia. Basically the pitch is perpared on a concrete tray and dropped into place. One criticism. As it stands, the article is unreferenced. I presume that most of the detail was researched at the external links near the top of the list.
