Thanks for visiting.

My interests include psychology, English social history, and particularly the evolution and effect upon their inhabitants of institutions - the country house, university, church and palace. (A weakness for gothic architecture should probably be declared at this point).

Information technology, the military religious orders, development of journalism, nineteenth and twentieth century English literature are all in there too, with Anthony Powell and Evelyn Waugh suffering regular rereading. British politicians also exert a certain, unhealthy fascination. Currently working upon visitations to UNESCO World Heritage Sites: twenty down, 810 to go.
