The West Coast Eagles are an Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. Their 2022 season will be their 36th season in the Australian Football League (AFL), their ninth season under coach Adam Simpson, and their third season with Luke Shuey as captain. During the previous season, West Coast performed below expectations, finishing ninth on the ladder, and missing the AFL finals for the first time since 2014.
2022 will be the third year for West Coast in the AFL Women's competition. The club will not field a reserves team in the West Australian Football League, having fielded a team in 2021 and 2019.
